Please bring your dog's food, bowls, and leash/harness. Please label all items. If your dog uses a crate at home, please provide it for their stay. You are also welcome to bring beds, treats, and toys if desired. Please note that any toys you bring may get chewed up, dirty, or lost (buried) and anything that is not labeled may get left behind.
We accept Venmo and cash, and payment is due on the day of pickup. An invoice is available upon request. Rates are as listed on the price menu and are per 24 hours. If the time of the pickup will be past the 24 hour period, there will be an additional $5 per hour fee, not to exceed $25 for the day.
The earliest drop off time available is 7:30am. The latest pick up time available is 10:00pm. Drop-off and pick-up times need to be arranged directly with the individual sitter, as they depend on the sitter's schedule and availability for that day. While we make every effort to accommodate our clients' needs, please understand that we have personal commitments and may not be available at the requested time.
Great question! Just like people, every dog is different and it’s crucial that we ensure that So Fetch is the right option for your specific dog and their needs prior to booking. We are a perfect fit for family dogs with moderate energy levels. Every dog who stays with us MUST be EXCELLENT with small children. If your dog hasn’t interacted frequently with small children or has ever shown any kind of aggression, we are not the right fit for your dog. Every dog who stays with us needs to be up to date on vaccines and flea preventative, and be of good temperament and well socialized. If your dog loves spending time with his humans, cuddles on the couch, and backyard playtime- we're just what you're looking for!
Drop-in visits are a great option for dogs who would prefer to stay in their home! They work well for dogs who are lower maintenance- dogs who are used to being alone for several hours, have low-moderate energy levels, and are well trained not to be destructive when unsupervised. Typically this description fits an older dog. Drop-in visits are also great for short trips!
We typically board between two to four dogs at a time- if the dogs are all a good fit for being boarded together. We take the age, size, energy level, etc of each dog into consideration to ensure the best possible environment for all the pups. There is usually some overlap between drop offs and pick ups, as well as daycare pups, so the amount of dogs we may have at any time varies from day to day. While Amy does not currently have any dogs of her own, Ryan and Lauren both have 2 dogs.
So Fetch is boutique home-based boarding in the Circle C area of South Austin. Amy, Ryan, and Lauren each reside in single family split level homes on quiet streets with several greenbelt areas nearby. We each have fenced and secure backyards with plenty of room for dogs to run and play. The dogs who stay with us are allowed to roam freely in our homes and are not crated unless specified by their owner. They are allowed on our furniture and have plenty of toys and treats offered to keep them feeling comfortable and content in their home away from home. You can get a pretty good feel for our homes from the photos we share- they are happy, family-oriented, dog-friendly spaces similar to what your dog is likely used to in their own home.
